Add/Remove Students from Classes Delete Classes Resources Support This training module will demonstrate, through the user interface, how to create, edit, manage, and delete Classes in PearsonAccessnext. Note: you may use the Student Registration/Personal Needs Profile (SR/PNP) import process to create Classes for several students at a time. However once the file is imported and students are set into certain classes, the editing and deleting functionally is not available through this same process. You will need to edit and delete these Classes through the user interface.

User Roles Click to go back to: Topics Add-on Roles will need to be given to users in order to Create, Edit, or Delete Classes. Users must be assigned certain roles in PearsonAccessnext to perform actions outlined in this training module. The following user roles can be assigned to staff creating, editing or deleting classes: State Role LEA/District Test Coordinator Role School Institution Test Coordinator Role If you have further questions on user accounts, review the User Role Matrix document to help you understand base and add-on user role options and permissions sets.

Create and Edit Classes
Click to go back to: Topics Create and Edit Classes Classes allow students to be grouped together for reporting purposes and is used later to identify a group of students to be placed into a test session. LEA/district and school personnel can choose to use a term other than classes to refer to this feature. This label is most helpful for Paper-Based Testing when students are identified in a classroom prior to the SR/PNP assessment import deadline and Student Labels are created and sent with the initial order. To create a Class: Under Setup > Classes. The class names are found under the Name column, in the results display. To view existing classes, check Show All Results, from the drop down next to Search. If you do not see a Class available, you may create one by selecting Create/Edit Classes under the Tasks drop-down menu. Press Start. Fill in the Organization Name, Name (the name of your Class), and add an optional Description. Press Create. You will receive a green success message. Press Exit Tasks. The Class you just created is now an option to apply to a student’s test under Setup > Students. You may also search and select this Class name for editing on this screen.

Manage Classes Click to go back to: Topics To modify which students are assigned to a class, follow these steps: From Setup > Students, search to find the students(s) whose class you want to modify. Click the down arrow next to Search to show all results. Select the students(s). Open the task list and select Manage Student Tests and click Start. Under the Student Test column, select a student test you want to indicate or edit the Class name. Find the field name: Class Name, and click the drop-down menu. Select the Class name you would like to label this student’s test. Click Save to finish.

Add/Remove Students To Add or Remove students from a Class:
Click to go back to: Topics To Add or Remove students from a Class: From Setup > Classes, search to find your class or click the down arrow next to the Search button to reveal and select the option to show all results. Select the class you wish to add or remove students from. Open the task list and select Add/Remove Student Tests in Classes and click Start. To Add Student Tests, lookup students by name or ID within the school. Mark the box next to the student you want to add to the class. To Remove Students, Uncheck the box next to the Assigned Student Tests that you would like to remove from the class. Click Save.

Delete Classes Click to go back to: Topics Before you delete a class make sure no students are assigned to it. To delete a class, follow these steps: From Setup > Classes, search to find your class or click the down arrow next to the Search button to reveal and select the option to show all results. Select the class you wish to delete. Open the task list and select Delete Classes and click Start. Mark the box next to the class that you want to delete. Click Delete. Note: SR/PNP import file does not have the functionality to delete Classes. You will need to do this through the user interface.
