All employees must wear gloves while providing any personal care. All employees are required to practice hand washing skills.

All employees must wash hands: Before handling or eating food, and after: using the toilet or changing a diaper touching pets, money or uncooked foods coughing, sneezing or blowing nose touching nose, eyes or mouth

Employees must wash hands Before and after giving care – even if they wear gloves Such care includes: cleaning wounds or incisions, or caring for catheters changing bandages and handling soiled linens, towels and clothing giving mouth care or cleaning private parts

Washing hands… Steps to washing hands properly...
Use lots of warm, running water and liquid soap. Lather hands and wrists. Scrub for at least 20 seconds, including fingernails. Rinse well . Dry with a clean paper or cloth towel.

Obtaining gloves… If the employee runs out of gloves or runs out of gloves at the residence of a consumer, it is the employee’s responsibility to contact Family Care so that gloves can be obtained.
