A Fast Hardware Tracker for the ATLAS Trigger System
Do you recognize the 2 high-pT muons from Z within the 46 collisions at 14 TeV? Real-time identification of tracks using the silicon detectors is important in the selection of interesting event topologies. The use of AM memories and other custom hardware devices allow an parallel approach capable of preparing tracks in the whole detector.

The ATLAS FTK Processor
The FTK processor is designed to read the silicon raw hits at any Level 1 accept (100 KHz) Data are clustered and sent to 64 processing units to found the track candidates. The track candidates are then refined, improved, collected, and sent to the ATLAS HLT to be used with the information from other sub-detectors.
