Cree language and culture resources have been developed for Band schools since 1977 Curriculum for Nursery to Grade 12 Instructional program A scope and sequence with fully developed units and relevant print resources Work on the Cree language started up again January 2018 after a period of non-production (lack of funding) Lac La Ronge Indian band(LLRIB) cree language development

activities The CRU offers conversational Cree classes twice a week (Tuesdays & Thursdays) and there has been a big demand for more evening classes LLRIB schools host 4 language festivals per year, each of our band schools hosts a festival The 1st Annual Cree Immersion Camp was held at Youth Haven in August 2018 and will be offering another one in August which will be open to anyone interested in learning the Cree language, if you are interested, please call

Cree language resources (catalogues available), currently revamping Gift of Language & Culture website, changing link to creelanguage.ca Translation services, printing services, capacity for publishing (currently translating 4 Robert Munsch books) Support for teachers Provide list of Elders and cultural resource people for teachers and schools Inservice for Cree teachers Assistance for Cree teachers in developing Cree language & culture programs Summer Immersion Camps Youth Haven Land-based activities and camps New culture camp opened in the fall of 2018 about 5 kms north Sucker River

Land-based education Everything is done on the land, about the land and taught by elders, knowledge keepers, and community members. Students learn about and participate in traditional activities that their ancestors did.
