Word on the Street Key Points
A deep sense of respect, love and compassion for Fr. David and his selfless decision to retire. How can we help Fr. David in this transition? 2. Concerns and apprehension about the transition a new pastor because of the priest shortage, the high demand for new pastors and how can anyone fill the shoes of Fr. David? Is Fr. Bill a candidate? The pastor process is misleading to the average parishioner because it gives them the impression they will actual have a say in who is chosen as pastor rather than providing input on desired qualities of new pastor and identifying greatest needs of parish. 3. Consistent feedback on declining church attendance especially of younger families. How can we attract younger parishioners and their families to activities and bridge the gap between them and older parishioners? There is a strong desire for a greater sense of community and participation at Mass because of how deeply parishioners care about SJC.
