32
Discussion Requests -DR 0114 MM210 Supplier Provided Reading
Request that any valid reads submitted on an M210 Supplier Provided Reading (read reason 95 – not for CoS) are accepted by ESB Networks regardless of whether a complete set of readings for every register is provided or not. 32
33
Reasoning behind present Business Rule
Collection of all reads is best practise On any occasion of access to the site or in the event of customer contact all meters are read as this may be the only opportunity for some time to get readings Breaking this rule and allowing "partial" readings (even by customers) could result in the skewing of future estimates – e.g. in the scenario of applying a customer read to a day register while estimating the night register for the same date. The exception allowed for reads by ESB Networks is for extreme cases only e.g. damaged meter. Partial reads are actioned by ESBN for follow-up to resolve the root cause e.g. replace the meter - itself closed off by a complete set of reads. For these reasons, it is not proposed to widen the scope of incomplete reads and all Suppliers are requested and encouraged to collect a read for all meters on the occasion of contact with the customer. 33
34
