2. Why should you think of ideas as tools?
The first thing most people do with new ideas is measure them against old ones
A new idea is likely to be rejected if it conflicts with the old one, and nothing new is learned
If you view an idea as a tool, you will open yourself up to more possibilities for a variety of circumstances
A new idea is an opportunity to experiment, see what works in what setting, and possibly find a better way
