1 Unit 1 – Linear Programming
Day 4 – Solutions to linear equations

2 Warm Up / PotD 3x – 8x – 18 = 4x – 27 – x -5x – 18 = 3x – 27
The following problem appears on Nubia’s math 1 test: 3x – 2(4x – 9) = 4x – 27 – x Here is her work: 3x – 8x – 18 = 4x – 27 – x -5x – 18 = 3x – 27 -8x – 18 = -27 -8x = -9 x = -9/-8 x = 9/8 Is Nubia’s answer correct? Why or why not? If her answer is not correct, show what the correct answer should have been. Give at least two ways she could have checked her answer to see if it was correct.

3 HW Check & Review

4 Investigation pgs 18 – 19 Go through #1-6 Be prepared to share

5 What is a reasonable answer in math?

6 Investigation 18-19 Revisit #1-6 and make changes as needed
Finish pg 19 Move to if you’re done and waiting on me!

7 Exit Ticket On a half sheet of paper, please answer the following questions. Do you OWN work. 1. You are charged $5 admission to a theme park, and an additional $1 per ride you go on. Write an equation to model this situation. 2. What is the slope and y-intercept of the line -6x + 2y = 10? 3. What are the x and y intercepts of the line -5x + 4y = -20?
