Global Ocean Freight Info
Dear valued customer,
Bunker expenses have a large impact on the Ocean Freight rates. Fuel prices have gone up significantly over the past 12 months with a very steep increase since beginning of the year.
This development is not reflected through the standard BAF formulas.
To account for this development and sustain quality in services, various surcharges related to this development have been implemented with effective date June 1st, 2018.
Kindly be informed that with immediate effect SchenkerOcean has decided to introduce an Emergency Bunker Surcharge (EBS) of
Usd per Teu for standard boxes
Usd per Teu for Reefer boxes
Usd 3.50 per w/m for LCL-shipments
(*note FMC governed trades after 30 days).
The EBS will be added to our invoices and stated as a separate ocean freight surcharge.
The expected duration of its application will depend on the development of the oil prices. We will keep you posted about latest developments.
