When people enter their early forties, they go through a transition into middle adulthood
This is when they realize most of their life is in the past
Some psychologists say that this is where people go through a midlife crisis where they are dissatisfied with how they are living
The truth is that there is “ not the slightest evidence” that distress is seen in the midlife age range
A reason why people think this is when the midlife crisis happens is because of the Social Clock
The Social Clock is the culturally preferred timing of social events such as marriage, parenthood, and retirement
This varies from culture to culture

For men and women , life events such as marriage, divorce, and retirement are new stages in life
Everything they do that is new it will leave a lasting significance because they go from one choice to another
