Kaplan–Meier survival analysis. Thirty-day mortality (vertical hashed line) was not significantly different between placebo (solid line) and etanercept (hashed line) groups. Six-month mortality rate was significantly higher in the etanercept arm compared with the placebo arm (P < .05).
