Registration Process Meet with all students in early Spring in classrooms, distribute packet of information with available classes. 2 weeks later call each student in to discuss course requests. Registration verifications are sent home after Spring Break. Changes can be made until June 30. After June 30 no changes will be made until school resumes. Students will get 2 weeks to change classes after school resumes, 1 week second semester. Class changes will change other classes/lunch

ISTEP+ testing for 9th and 10th graders
Any student in Algebra I will take the Math ISTEP. (this is a 2 part test) Students in English 10 will take the E/LA ISTEP. Any student enrolled in Biology I will take the science ISTEP.(This will be most freshmen) Part 1- Early March Part 2- Mid April

PSAT testing PSAT given in a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 10th for all 10th graders. The PSAT is optional for Juniors they must sign up in the guidance office early in the school year to test. Juniors take the PSAT primarily for National Merit Scholarship eligibility No fee for the PSAT Score reports returned in December PSAT Scores are used for dual credit registration Take SAT/ACT during junior year

What is the difference between Dual Credit and AP credit?????
Dual credit may or may not be accepted at all colleges AP credits are accepted at most colleges You cannot combine AP and Dual credit for the same class KEEP TRACK OF YOUR DUAL CREDITS!!

Must complete ONE of the following: for Academic Honors -Earn 4 credits in 2 or more AP courses and take corresponding AP exam – OR- -Earn 6 verifiable transcripted college credits in dual credit courses from the priority course list –OR- -Earn 3 verifiable transcripted college credits from the priority list and 2 credits in AP courses and corresponding AP exam –OR or higher on SAT, no less than 560 on Math, and 590 on EB R/W –OR- -ACT composite of 26 or above, must include writing portion

Weighted courses and GPA
Grades in Honors/dual credit courses receive an added point value of 0.5 Grades in AP courses receive an added point value of 1.0 Grades of A+ receive an added 0.1 Students taking 7 courses per semester receive an additional quality point added to their total point value
