3. Creating a GoHigherKY.org Account
Try to create a unique username.
Try using the first part of your address before or after your username.
Remember, you will be sending your information to colleges. Be professional when deciding on an address.
Enter your date of birth like “12/25/1981.”
Go to the home page or to “myGoHigher” to create your account.
When deciding on a username be sure to remember who you are communicating with. You will be sending your information to colleges and you want to be as professional as possible.

Complete and submit your admissions application from GoHigherKy.org.

The first step in applying for all types of aid is to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Fill out the FAFSA online at GoHigherKY.org in the “FAFSA Transfer” section.
Determine your expected family contribution (EFC) before you file your FAFSA. Your EFC is an estimate of your family’s cost of paying for school.

Know what major you might study? Search scholarships by keywords such as education, law, music, etc.

34. FAFSA Transfer
Filling out the FAFSA is the first step in applying for financial aid.
The GoHigherKY.org “FAFSA Transfer” will allow you to transfer certain data from your GoHigherKY.org profile straight to the FAFSA application.
It’s free.

35. FAFSA transfer
Fill out the FAFSA as soon as possible after January 1 of the year you plan to attend college. Some grants (free money) are awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis, so apply early.

GoHigherKY.org will not release your personal information to others without your permission.

Once you begin an application, “myGoHigher” will:
Track where you stopped and link you to all your applications in process.
Give you the date and confirmation number of your submitted applications.
You can easily:

Review the status of your applications, either submitted or in progress.
