Move On When Ready (MOWR) is for students at eligible high schools that wish to take college level coursework for credit towards both high school and college graduation requirements. 5 Register for the SAT your Jr. Year
What is the SAT? The SAT and SAT subject tests are designed to assess your academic readiness for college. The SAT tests the reading, writing and math skills you learn in school, critical for success in college and beyond. It gives both you and colleges a sense of how you’ll be able to apply the thinking, writing and study skills required for college course work. SAT website: SAT Dates: see your counselor!! 

6 Register for the act your Jr. year
What is the ACT? The ACT is a type of college entrance exam. The multiple-choice test covers four areas: English, math, reading and science. The Writing Test, which is optional, measures your skills in planning and writing a short essay. ACT Website: ACT Test Dates: See your counselor!!

7 NCAA Eligibility – Athletes
Want to play college sports? Speak to your coaches and start researching college athletic departments It’s best to not have any e2020 classes on your transcript

8 gpa Know your gpa – 3.o and above are favored for scholarships
Research colleges to learn their gpa, sat, and act requirements See your counselor!!!

9 Summer before senior year
Schedule college visits – see college websites to register Visit college websites to see admissions requirements Not sure of your major yet? Visit and take the Career exploration test

10 Interested in nursing? Sign up with Mrs. Morris to listen to a nurse speak about what it takes to become a nurse. When: Tuesday Oct. 25, 2016 Time: 3:00 p.m Where: Career Center (D1113)
