Language Arts/English – 4 credits / Dramatic Lit. Social Studies – 3.5 credits .5 Human Geography, 1.World History, 1 US History, .5 Economics, .5 US Government Math – 3 credits Science – 3 credits Foreign Language – 2 credits Fine Art – 1 credit PE – 1 credit Health – .5 credit Electives – 8 credits Total of 26 credits Colorado Competency-“Passing score on one of 6 measures” 40 hours of community service

Why do GPA’s matter? -Think jobs, colleges, scholarships, car insurance etc. Calculating a semester GPA: 1. World Literature: A/4.0 2. Algebra I: B/3.0 3. Earth Science: B/3.0 4. Human Geography: A/4.0 5. Spanish I: A/4.0 6. Drawing & Painting: B/3.0 7. Health: A/4.0 = 25 25/7 = (GPA) (Unweighted) A = 4.0 B = 3.0 C = 2.0 D = 1.0 F = 0.0 *GPA is cumulative!*

Benefits: -Weighted GPA (4.5) -Academic Rigor -Sets you up for AP classes BUT: -Often faster-paced and more work-load -Make sure you are ready! C’s, D’s, and F’s in Honors classes do NOT help you!

Registration Steps Complete online registration
A reminder that you must speak with your teachers if you wish to take an Honors or Advanced Placement class. Go to the IC Portal and login to your account (Use CCHS website for link) You do not have to select ACCESS There are no ”off periods” or “study halls,” you must enroll in 7 classes each semester Make sure that you enter both semesters of a year long class (should have 14 entries/classes) Choose two alternates for electives (you may not get your first choice) There is NO SAVE BUTTON ☺
