White Settlement ISD students will begin on the Distinguished Level of Achievement (DLA).
This plan
Provides the greatest flexibility for students after graduation
Offers students an opportunity to earn an industry standard certification
Ensures that students have taken the courses necessary to pass the new Texas Success Initiative college entrance exams

10. What is an Endorsement?
An endorsement is a focused study in an area of interest to the student, as outlined by TEA.
Each endorsement requires four credits in the same subject field with at least one being advanced.
There are five endorsement areas:

17. Weighted Courses
For determining rank in class and honor graduate status, including valedictorian and salutatorian, the semester grade for each course will be multiplied by the following weighting standards:

18. Class Rank Top Ten Percent Law
If graduating in the top 10% and completing the requirements for the Distinguished Level of Achievement (DLA), you are guaranteed admission to any Texas state college or university. The University of Texas at Austin is only required to admit students in the top 7%.
INCOMING FRESHMEN MUST GRADUATE ON THE DLA IN ORDER TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR AUTOMATIC ADMISSION.
