SLACK: The Basics What is SLACK?
“…end to communication silos” (SLACK) Web Based communication resource for collaboration Business – Think not of company-wide, but state-wide connection among Charter Systems All charter system stakeholders can communicate in real-time to find solutions to barriers found in their school communities SLACK Use – six million daily active users and nine million weekly users (Sept. 2017) new rivals Microsoft Teams, FB Workplace Air B&B, NASA Jet Propulsion Lab, Johns Hopkins Innovation Hub, IBM Engineering Teams, Home Depot, Ticket Master, LA Times, Harvard

As Needed Communication and Support
Networking - Immediate connections to practitioners actually implementing innovations and using flexibility Support - immediate technical (I.e. governance, use of flexibility, innovation planning) support from DOE, Charter System Foundation consultants and charter system peers One place to share charter system related information Use of flexibility and innovative ideas State and federal legislated and GA DOE changes resources

Shared documents Voice & video conferencing Participate, follow, and broaden communication by sending to an entire channel of members Message Threads focus topic discussions across the state to learn more

Channels will develop… Focus members such as Consolidation of Funds Direct Messages - quick discussion with team mate(s) Message Threads - state-wide focused discussion and support by sending to an entire channel

Current Status We have received 460 names and addresses so far. We have not been able to invite all to join at once. 111 members have accepted invitations to join, with 303 pending, as of January 31, 2018. Anticipated Launch – Early February 2018 Questions?
