What is the deal? Given data from a Vibrating Beam experiment
Goal is to fit data to a mathematical model Dependent variable: displacement Independent variable: time Given three data sets- but for time we will only be looking at one.

The Spring Model Why use the spring model? Aren’t we using a beam model? The beam can actually be seen as a set of springs that work collaboratively. Beam model is much more sophisticated and complex.

Conclusions Beam model is not perfect; however, this model is significantly better than the preceding Spring model. Could try to use a Spline fitting model in order to further increase accuracy This takes more time and is more complex, but this gives more accurate results.
