Plum Pudding Model J. J. Thomson proved the existence of electrons in atoms. Electrons are negatively charged particles. He proposed the Plum pudding model for atoms in 1904.

Plum Pudding Model He imagined atoms as solid positively charged spheres with negatively charged electrons spread throughout like plum pudding, or like a blueberry muffin.
