2 Plum Pudding Model J. J. Thomson proved the existence of electrons in atoms. Electrons are negatively charged particles. He proposed the Plum pudding model for atoms in 1904.

3 Plum Pudding Model He imagined atoms as solid positively charged spheres with negatively charged electrons spread throughout like plum pudding, or like a blueberry muffin.

4 Plum pudding Model What does charge do?

5 Plum Pudding Model You will be conducting experiments with balloons to prove the existence of charged particles, like electrons.

6 Plum pudding model Instructions Rub the balloon on a lab members head.
Make table in your notebook, and make observations of how the balloon reacts with the following items.
