2 Imagery Imagery is an image in its basic sense- is something concrete that appeals to any of the five senses- sight, smell, taste, sound, touch. Example: A warm summer’s night may be described like this: Sight: A full moon in a black sky Smell: Freshly mown grass Sound: Crickets chirping in the background Taste: A refreshing glass of ice cold lemonade Touch: A warm breeze

3 Create a chart: Sight Smell Sound Taste Touch Trees
Freshly Brewed Coffee Birds Chirping Buttered Biscuits Cool Breeze Now close your eyes, and imagine the perfect Saturday morning. Fill in the chart with your own image of the perfect Saturday. What is the mood of your Saturday?

4 Describe the Picture on your chart!! Use all five senses!

5 Symbolism A symbol is the use of symbols to represent ideas or qualities. What are these symbols for? What other symbols can you think of?
