Eragon is first introduced to us, the story goes on into his escape from king Galbotorix's evil henchmen. How he reaches his destiny and starts his training. How he even saves an elf princess from a dungeon, and falls deeply in love with her. All the while he's learning of the great history of Dragon Riders before him and of their legends and culture.
