“Over thousands of years the Egyptians became
masters of the craft of preserving dead bodies. After removing several organs and the brain from the body, they used herbs that killed bacteria to sterilize it. The body was then dried, wrapped in many layers of linen strips, and placed in a sarcophagus.” (p.27)
