Aim These slides aim at continuing the discussion started on July meeting regarding next steps on IEEE Ultimate objective: Write a PAR that makes sense

Main lines 3 main lines were discussed
Achieving QoS integration between different technologies Extended capability discovery Extended and dynamic MIIS

QoS integration Currently there is no common view on how to manage handover with QoS requirements between different technologies QoS concepts and metrics between technologies differ within IEEE and between IEEE and 3GPP for example Define a common QoS framework between technologies It might be just a translator

Extended Capability Discovery
IEEE technologies provide tech-specific mechanisms for service/capability announcement These mechanism are not homogeneous and cannot be easily extended Examples: Indication of VoIP support in an AP, LTE or WiMAX PoA Emergency service support This can also be seen as an extension of MIIS providing a way of determining the HO relevant capabilities of a target PoA before HO.

Extended and Dynamic MIIS
One of the things that ANDSF cannot do is providing dynamic information A new extended version of MIIS may provide not only static information but e.g. dynamic load information of the APs Concepts such as hierarchical MIIS, Localized caches and dynamic reporting (even updates of MIIS based on events) may be interesting from the operators point of view Adding policies to MIIS should also be analyzed
