PSTB model From ‘Little Book of Managing Change’
The team works with the ‘problem owner’, helped by a facilitator, to create lists on a flipchart following the steps described below: Problem statement: a simple ‘How do I . . ?’ question Idea generation: a rapid brainstorm for everyone Idea selection: the problem owner picks the two to three most promising ideas Benefits and concerns: assess each of the selected ideas Critical concerns: may eliminate an idea if it cannot be overcome Action plans: provide a blueprint for addressing the problem.

PSTB model – How does it run?

On A4, have model of PSTB to follow; 2 pieces of F/C & pens. CLs complete on F/C in two groups, based on one of the ‘How do I…?’ questions generated during CM1 feedback. RCs select a couple of questions that are most frequently occurring/most generic. Change the Challenge or tweak into a How Do I…? Question based on CL development.
