2. Why Study Ecozones?
While its important to study parts of our natural environment (climate, wildlife, geology), it is also important to study all of the natural and human parts of an environment together. We must study all components in order to understand how they interact as ONE system. If we do this, we will better understand our environment as a WHOLE.

An ecozone is a large region in which living things, including people, and the physical environment work together as a system.
The study of ecozones looks at how human activities interact with the natural environment within a particular region.
