4 Mr. Adcock’s Welcome We are a team. (Teacher helps student not Teacher vs student.) I will teach you and you can teach me. Do your best each day!

5 How can I thrive and not Just Survive in this class?
Enter with the right attitude. Be eager to learn something each day. Respect yourself, others, and the teacher. Follow the student handbook rules. *Follow class procedures and routine. A/C DO NOT TOUCH!!!! IF YOU LEAVE CLASS FOR ANY REASON YOU W WILL GET A BIG OLE FAT TARDY!!!!

6 Class Procedures The Beginning of Class.
Enter the room and find you assigned seat. Start doing bell work immediately. (You start class.) When the tardy bell rings all talking stops. After bell work is complete, get out notebook and be ready to go.

7 Class Procedures During Class Have materials in class daily.
Lesson discussion and comments. Your opinion is important. *Listen while teacher explains. Teacher will end class. (Don’t slam books closed a few minutes before the bell.)

8 Class Procedures No Food or Drinks! (Bottled water is permitted) Do not write on my board No electronics

9 Class Procedures A few comments:
Your success depends upon following class procedures. If followed, there is no need for long list of rules. Following procedures at school prepares you for the work place. Just do it!

10 Consequences of Bad Behavior
Students who refuse to follow procedures and handbook rules will receive the following. The Evil Eye: Stop your behavior and nothing else said. Stern Warning in hall: You correct the problem. Parent phone call. Student will loose incentives for the semester. Parent/teacher/principal conference- All incentives lost for year.

11 Why We Study History It is relevant. What happens today is a result of what happened yesterday. History tells the story of the human struggle. History can repeat itself. “Those who do not learn from the past are destined to repeat it.” Knowledge of history creates thinkers. History gives humanity a heart and a sense of right and wrong.
