“A “Redeeming” Darkness: The Subversion of Exodus Motifs in Job’s Curse (Job 3:3-10)”

This paper provides an intertextual reading of the curse with which Job opens the poetic portion of the book of Job in chapter 3. It is argued that the poet is alluding to
and subverting—other biblical stories and themes in order to create an early form of protest literature.
