Production of tumour necrosis factor-alpha (TNF) and interleukin-10 in 39 healthy volunteers
Production of TNF-α was measured by ELISA in samples of whole blood after 4 h incubation with 1000 ng/mL endotoxin. Interleukin-10 was measured after 24 h incubation. Production of the two cytokines was not correlated (r=0·20, p=0·22).
