STAGE 1 Review of the existing national water related legislations by WG. STAGE 2 Production of draft proposals concering amendments of the existing national legislations or new draft laws on water. STAGE 3 Consultation process on major issues with the interested parties – Consultation documents STAGE 4 Production of final draft proposals STAGE 5 Final adoption Expected by 2003 Laws & Regulations

5 Implementation Tasks for 2003
Identification of RBs and RBDs In a few countries, there is no final decision regarding the number of RBDs and on RBD authorities. However, the initial work has been completed and the evaluation of the respective proposals is in progress.

9 CIS 2000-2002: Difficulties Encountered
13% of the countries responded did not encounter major difficulties

10 CIS The testing of the CIS Guidance Documents in Pilot River Basins and experiences gained will be the best way to get through different problems related to the implementation of the Directive.
