1 Instruction slide (delete this when submitted)
Each of the following slides suffers from common deficiencies. You may have seen some like this in seminars. Each should be improved. Your goal is to develop crisp, professional, and clear visual aids. Consider how these appear on the big screen. Do consider using color judiciously adding relevant artwork effective scaling adding appropriate labels correct chemical notation Don’t make only cursory changes add any animations for these add additional slides Use the note space of powerpoint to briefly defend your changes for each slide. Justify your changes, explaining how the slide is improved as a result. Slides with a in the lower right corner have some comments from me in the note section for you to consider.

2 Slide 1 The colors of the molecules on the slide are the actual colors of the pure compounds.

3 Infrared spectrum of [Co(NH3)5Cl]Cl2
Slide 2 Infrared spectrum of [Co(NH3)5Cl]Cl2 This is a plot made in MS Excel of the IR spectrum of this compound. The original file of data is posted on the assignment page. Use this original Excel file to make improvements in this slide.

4 Slide 3

5 Energetics of Solution Formation
Slide 4 Energetics of Solution Formation If the total energy cost for breaking attractions between particles in the pure solute and pure solvent is less than the energy released in making the new attractions between the solute and solvent, the overall process will be exothermic.

6 Uptake of Azo Dyes into Silk Glands for Production of Colored Silk Cocoons Using a Green Feeding Approach The reference source of this image is given in the slide. This image was taken with my cell-phone camera. Nisal, et al. ACS Sustainable Chem. Eng., 2014, 2 (2), pp 312–317 DOI: /sc400355k
