2 Customer Profile Setup the customer profile: Information Needed:
Utility Name Product Line State Contact Person Serial Number format Nameplate type Data File Type (standard or custom) If Sensus ESM meters are going to be ordered, then an .IXI and .IXT file is required to be attached to the customer profile. There needs to be a separate Customer Profile for each Product Line (i.e. Sensus, Honeywell, Aclara, Ally)

3 Configuration This is INTERNAL SETTINGS... How does the meter behave This is where you create a BILLING QUANTITIES, ALARMS, ETC. Primary Info – Customer, meter form, etc. This ties Configuration to Order Spec. Features – Basic Features, Energy Type, TOU, Etc. Demand Configuration – Demand Setup (Enabled? Interval setup Display – How many digits and what quantities are on the LCD DST Settings – Does the meter follow DST? Smart Point Options – Frequency, Alarm settings, Voltage Average Window, Outage Timing, Time Zone, Read Resolution Security Options – Does the meter ship encrypted? Attachments – If ESM, need configuration file.

4 Order Specification This is HARDWARE setup... What does it take to physically build a meter? This is where you create a STOCK NUMBER and join it with the Configuration

5 Order Spec + Configuration
Order Spec’s need a valid configuration associated to it to produce a functional meter. Multiple Configurations may be available for an order spec. This is ok, but be careful which one you choose!!! Name them uniquely!

9 Configurations of ESM vs. Non ESM Sensus Meters
Configurations for non-ESM meters are created in OEMS Configurations for ESM meters are created in iConfig *The output of iConfig is a .XEC file which will need to be added to the configuration in OEMS.

12 Customer Profile If you are entering Third Party meters, there is likely already an electric customer profile. CLONE!!!!! You will now have a new Customer Profile in created state. Chose your third party.

13 Customer Profile Select Your Serial Number Format
Chose your nameplate.

14 Configuration This is where you upload your third party meter program.

15 Order Specification This is HARDWARE setup... What does it take to physically build a meter? This is where you create a STOCK NUMBER and marry it up to the configuration.
