Participants will gain understanding of the UDL framework and how the framework supports all students from every background through a team building activity. Participants will gain knowledge of how to set up an engaging Breakout box that they can use as a leadership tool and educational tool.

Types of Locks

Instructions *Choose a primary or junior division box and get into groups of 4. *Work through the problems in your package and attempt to open each of the locks. Each problem will provide the combination for 1 lock. *Remember number codes are on the sides of the locks. *Remember the horizontal line for the directional and word locks is on the left side. * To reset the directional lock for the wooden boxes, click down twice.

Some tips: - Always best to work with a teaching partner to design a puzzle. -You don’t always have to use all of the locks or the puzzle hints. -Pre-teaching breakout boxes will serve you well: locks, social expectations, learning skills look-fors, use lock parking lots. -Take your time resetting your locks. They are expensive to replace.
