Tournament Rules This tournament shall be conducted in accordance with: The current FIH Rules of Hockey (2017). HNZ Rules for National Representative Tournaments (2018). Including the attacking free hit rule released in 2015

Tournament Rules - Variances Appendix 2 Age Qualification - Under 15. Appendix 3 Games will be 30 minute halves and 5 minute half times. Appendix 4 Extra Time Procedure for drawn post pool play off matches. Appendix 5 Shoot Out Competition Procedure for drawn post pool play off matches Halves not quarters – in line with FIH Junior world cups No need to give order of shootout Team that takes the first shoot out changes after each 5

Match Schedule At this time there are no changes to the match schedule. As always the TD reserves the right to change this due to weather / unforeseen circumstances. Maximum notice will be provided to Team Managers should this occur. In the event that teams are equal after pool play and require a shoot out competition to separate them (16.2,f), this will take place on Wednesday after the final game is played.

Equipment Check Visual check by the Umpires before your first game. Any suspect equipment will be subject to a proper test. All sticks not just the match stick. Goalkeeper gear. Defender Face Masks & Gloves.

Starting Line Up 60 minutes prior (can be done online on Altius). Personnel allowed in the pitch/dugout area for match Starting 11 players. Up to 7 additional players who will start on the team bench. Captain (C). Both Goalkeepers (GK). Team Manager for the match. Team Coach for the match. Physiotherapist (if any). One extra Team Management Staff (to be approved by the TD). The TD reserves the right to remove any persons from the dugout they feel should not be there. Need to have two keepers to have 18. Keepers need to be the same all tournament and kitted for the games All persons jobs should be obvious. Ie – physio should be physio; manager = manager not an extra coach If starting lineups done on TMS colours must be published otherwise a photo to ATD by or phone

Game Start Protocol Approximately 20 minutes between matches. - 5 mins All players and personnel clear the pitch. Personnel not on the match sheet leave the pitch/dugout area. - 2 mins Teams line up on sideline in front of dugout. - 1 min Umpires lead out with two lines of players who then fan out, turn and face the crowd or dugouts. Shake hands and get ready to play (team on left of umpires will move first). 0 min Umpires start the game. Please clear pitch promptly and leave dugouts tidy and rubbish free Both turfs will face the dug outs

Game Start Protocol 30 minute halves and 5 minute half time - Umpires will control time. - 1 min Players take the field ready to play. - 0 min Umpires restart the game. The Reserve Umpire will: - Record goal scorers. - Time suspensions. Tech bench will knock at 3 minutes if you go to the changing room

Substitutions At halfway. Player coming off must be off the pitch before replacement goes on. Please keep players back from the sideline. PCs. Teams with a second goalkeeper must be kitted up at all times when on the bench. Managers are responsible for substitutions! No subs at PC other than an injured or suspended Goal keeper– like for like GK subs – time will be stopped for this and any change in type eg GK <-> privileges or field player

Injuries Treatment by the physio / manager requires 2 minutes off the field, at the team bench area, for the player. This includes goalkeepers. Physio / Manager must wait for the Umpire’s signal. The player cannot be treated on the field except in the case of immediate assistance needed to get the player from the field. Head Injuries – suspected concussion will be referred to Cape Physio and will need medical clearance if concussion is confirmed. See head injury policy - players will not be allowed to resume playing until cleared in writing.

Rule 17 - Post Pool Play Offs Appendix 4 - Extra Time Procedures In post pool play offs if, after regulation time the game is tied, drop-off golden goal extra time will be played as follows: First 5 mins = 9 a side (no Goalkeeper or player with GK privileges) Second 5 mins = 7 a side (no Goalkeeper or player with GK privileges) Should no winner be found after the second period of extra time, teams will progress to a Penalty Shoot Out Competition (Appendix 5). See head injury policy - players will not be allowed to resume playing until cleared in writing.

Golden Goal - Important Points! Goalkeepers allowed for PCs and strokes. PC - Goalkeeper comes on, one field player goes off at half way. When PC is over, umpire will stop the game (not time) to get the goalkeeper off, the field player comes on to the field at half way. GKs wait behind the goal line outside the circle. See head injury policy - players will not be allowed to resume playing until cleared in writing.

Post Match Protocol Check and sign the match sheet within 10 minutes after the game has ended (even if you are lodging a protest). Check the score / scorers / suspensions / shootouts. If the result is being challenged for whatever reason the sheet MUST be signed and “Under Protest” written on the sheet. HNZ Code of Conduct will operate. Clear the pitch and dugout area of all personnel, gear and rubbish as soon as possible. Please make sure you check all the information… mistakes do happen, but it is very hard to fix once it has been signed off as correct

Protests Process as per Code Of Conduct. Details of protest must be in writing to the Tournament Director within 30 minutes of the match ending. The match sheet must be signed. Protests regarding umpiring decisions will not be considered. Protests of a technical or procedural nature can be heard. Fee of $100 payable.
