1. Tips For Examination Success
You should spend a few moments on reading through the paper before starting to answer.
Read the questions carefully and answer the question set. E.g. Are you being asked to “explain” (More marks) or simply “name” (less marks). Always remember the 1 mark for 1 answer rule.
Answers should be carefully and logically laid out.
Questions are set roughly at a mark a minute.
Use drawings wherever possible. “A picture is worth a thousand words”
Where questions contain a choice, answer using areas you are most familiar with.
Care should be taken not to miss questions.
Avoid generalisation – wherever possible refer to specific examples, materials etc and provide as much detail as possible.
