5. Debate!
1. Present a 1-2 minute position statement to explain why you believe the position is true or false. Pro position goes first then everything alternates.
2. Present a 1-2 minute evidence statement to support the reasoning given in the position statement.
3. A 1-2 minute cross-examination challenges the opposing side’s argument. This also restates your argument to dispel any doubt your opponents might have placed on your argument. You may prepare a statement to refute the other side and/or prepare questions which the other team has to defend during this time.
4. In preparation, try to spot potential weaknesses in your own argument. You should also prepare to respond to possible questions you get under cross-examination. This is your 1-2 minute rebuttal.
5. Finally, a 1 minute summary statement will be presented.

6. After Debates Debrief:
How did the structure work for you? What were your personal strengths and struggles?
Who won?
Were your opinions changed at all by this process?

Topics Must:
Relate to economics.
Be a domestic issue in the U.S.
Some categories that will have the best options: Government Funding, Labor and Economics, & Taxes. There are others that will work, just make a case to Ms. E.
