2 What are flavonoids? Flavonoids are a group of plant metabolites thought to provide health benefits through cell signalling pathways and antioxidant effects. 4 What are the benefits of flavonoids?
Flavonoids provide a number of benefits to the human body. They: Act as antioxidants. Have a direct antitumor effect. Enhance immunity (citrus fruits). Chem-465 12/9/201812/9/2018

5 Flavonoids, polyphenolic compounds found in plants, have antioxidant powers that may provide important health benefits. Diets rich in flavonoids have been associated with reduced risk of a variety of diseases. However, further research is needed to determine whether flavonoids alone are responsible for these benefits rather than the whole foods that contain flavonoids.
