The colony of Georgia was founded by James Edward Oglethorpe. Oglethorpe proposed to found a colony in the region disputed between Spanish and British.

3. Oglethorpe got a concession by King George II in 1732, and in 1733 the first colonists came to the region. In the colony the slavery and the consumption of alcohol would be suppressed.
