2. Kyoto Protocol
Is an international treaty which extends the 1992 United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) that commits State Parties to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, based on the premise that (a) global warming exists and (b) human-made CO2 emissions caused it.
In 1999 the U.S drew international criticism for refusing to implement the treaty.

3. Nuclear Non-proliferation Treaty
Agreement not to provide nuclear weapons to other nations and to encourage general disarmament and destruction of existing nuclear weapons.

4. Cold War
Was a state of political and military tension after World War II between powers in the Western Bloc (the United States, its NATO allies and others) and powers in the Eastern Bloc (the Soviet Union and its satellite states).
Although the two main nations never directly had a war there were several other wars (Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan) that each side supported militarily.
