1 Isolation and Identification of Psoralen plus Ultraviolet A (PUVA)-Induced Genes in Human Dermal Fibroblasts by Polymerase Chain Reaction-Based Subtractive Hybridization  Meinhard Wlaschek, Christina Hommel, Jutta Wenk, Peter Brenneisen, Wenjian Ma, Gernot Herrmann, Karin Scharffetter-Kochanek  Journal of Investigative Dermatology  Volume 115, Issue 5, Pages (November 2000) DOI: /j x Copyright © 2000 The Society for Investigative Dermatology, Inc Terms and Conditions

2 Figure 1 Enhanced gene expression following PUVA-induced growth arrest. Differential expression of the PCR-Select isolated cDNA p21waf1/cip1, TIMP-3, and ferritin H and the unknown gene 478 was confirmed by hybridization to northern blotted poly(A)+ mRNA derived from control (C) and PUVA-treated growth-arrested fibroblasts (P). Equal loading of the gel and quality of the RNA was checked by hybridization with the house-keeping gene β-actin.
