Church Life-encompassing religious organization to which all members of a society belong. To be a member of this society, you have to be a part of the church.

Denomination One of several religious organizations that most members of society accept as legitimate. Voluntary membership Competition for members is acceptable

Sect A religious organization that arises out of a desire to reform an existing religious organization. Pilgrims separated from the Church of England RLDS – Reorganized Church of Latter-Day Saints

Cult A religious organization whose characteristics are not drawn from existing religious traditions within a society. Church of Scientology

Religiosity Ways in which people express their religious interests and convictions 5 ways people display religiosity

5 ways Belief – what a person considers to be true
Ritual – religious practice members are expected to perform. Intellectual Dimension – knowledge of holy or sacred scripture. Knowledgeable about their faith. Experience – certain feelings attached to religious expression. Consequences – decisions and commitments people make as a result of religious beliefs, rituals, knowledge, or experiences.
