Sawmill Production approx 196 million bdft at 8,000 bdft per truckload that’s approx. 24,500 truckloads/year Dry Kiln Production appox 96 million bdft at 13,000 bdft per tuckload, that’s approx. 7,400 truckloads/year Appalachian Wood Pellets – 55,000 tons production/year at 22 tons per truckload, that’s 2,500 truckloads/year

50% of sawmill production is dried the remainder is sold green…..25% of that green volume is shipped to West Virginia companies In 2017 Awp produced enough RR ties to lay approx. 86 miles of track 54% of kiln dried lumber is exported China is largest export market Over 60% of lumber shipped to China STAYS in China

5 AWP Economic Impact As of March 2017 AWP was ranked #69 in the top 100 employers in West Virginia AWP has approx. 680 full time employees in WV and approx. and additional 200 contract employees AWP operates in 10 WV counties – Grant, Greenbrier, Hardy, Mercer, Pendleton, Raleigh, Randolph, Webster, and Wetzel

6 AWP Economic Impact In 2017 AWP spent approx. $47 million dollars on logs/timber in WV AWP contracts approx. 85 independent logging companies to harvest timber Between logs, lumber, sawdust, chips, and pellets, AWP makes over 55,000 truck moves/year

US Forest Service Data shows Acerage of Appalachian Timberland is increasing Growth to removal ratio in the Appalachian Hardwood Region is over 2.4 to 1 Annual harvests in the Appalachian Forest Region account for LESS THAN 1% of total inventory
