1 For the director of music. Of the Sons of Korah. According to alamoth. A song. God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. (Psalms 46:1) God is our security: Our Refuge!

2 I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust. (Psalms 91:2)
4 Who has gone up to heaven and come down? Who has gathered up the wind in the hollow of his hands? (Proverbs 30:4)

12 Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, or with the breadth of his hand marked off the heavens? (Isaiah 40:12)

2. God is our strength. 19 The Sovereign LORD is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to go on the heights. (Hab 3:19)

THREE PERSONAL MENTAL BOUNDARIES: I Will Not Fear (vv. 2-3)
2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, (Psalms 46:2) A sensorial description indicating the spiritual condition of losing heart and discouragement.

I Will Not Be Moved (vv. 4-7)
4 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells. 5 God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day. 6 Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall; he lifts his voice, the earth melts. (Psalms 46:4-6)

13 He who forms the mountains, creates the wind, and reveals his thoughts to man,
he who turns dawn to darkness, and treads the high places of the earth-the LORD God Almighty is his name. (Amos 4:13)

I Will Not Strive (vv. 8-11) - Battlefield
8 Come and see the works of the LORD, the desolations he has brought on the earth. 9 He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth; he breaks the bow and shatters the spear, he burns the shields with fire. (Psalms 46:8-9)
