3. Raising Children Children are the Lord’s heritage (Psa. 127:3)
Proper training of children is important and necessary (Prov. 22:6)
Where did the people of Moab and Ammon come from? What can we learn from “the children of Lot” (Deut. 2:9, 19; Psa. 83:8)? They were nameless and shameless!

4. The Children of Lot
They were raised by parents who made poor choices (Gen. 13:10-12; Mt. 16:26)
They were raised in a wicked environment by choice (Gen. 13:13; 18:20; 19:1-9; Deut. 29:23; Isa. 3:9; Jer. 23:14; Ezek. 16:49; Lk. 17:28-29; 2 Pet. 2:6; Jude 7; note our words “Sodomite” and “Sodomy”; Cor. 15:33)

They had a father who did not show them respect (Gen. 19:8; Eph. 6:4; Col. 3:21)
They married men who mocked God’s word (Gen. 19:12-14; 1 K. 11:3; 21:25)
They had a parent who was disobedient to God’s word (Gen. 19:17, 26; Lk. 17:32; Tit. 1:16)

They had a righteous parent who stopped being righteous (Gen. 19:30-38; 2 Peter 2:7; 1 Cor. 10:12; 1 Tim. 4:1; Heb. 4:11; Pet. 3:17-18)
They understood the negative effects of alcohol (Gen. 19:30-38; Gen. 9:21; Prov. 20:1; 23:29-35; Isa. 5:11, 22; 28:7; Eph. 5:18)
