1 The Character of Christ
Christology The Character of Christ

2 His Impeccability Among Bible believers there is no question as to the fact that Jesus Christ did not sin. The question is whether He could have sinned. There is no question as to whether He was tempted to sin. (Matt. 4:1;Luke 4:2,13; Heb. 2:18; 4:15).

3 What is Temptation? A satanically supplied opportunity to operate independently from God, outside His will, and contrary to His authority. Does temptation constitute sin? Is it a sin to be tempted? Absolutely not!

4 The Temptation of Christ
Was it possible? Does the Bible teach the impeccability of Christ? (Heb. 7:26; 2 Cor. 5:21; 1 Pet. 2;21,.22) Man succumbs to sin because lust dwells in his fallen nature. Jesus did not have a fallen nature and had no lust or inordinate desire contrary to the will of the Father.

5 Was the temptation of Christ real?
Was the temptation personal? Was the temptation instructional? There was never a time when the Lord Jesus failed to understand who He was and why He came to earth. Yet, He voluntarily submitted Himself to human authority and lived the human existence in every normal way.

6 Christ did not sin because He was both God and man at the same time
Christ did not sin because He was both God and man at the same time. Because Jesus was the God-man, He possessed an omnipotent desire to do the will of the Father (Heb. 10:7; John 4:34; John 8:29). He is immutable God who has not sinned from eternity. Jesus suffered temptation throughout His earthly existence. Satan hurled his best assaults at the immovable Son of God.

7 The issue of Christ’s impeccability devolves to His own integrity
The issue of Christ’s impeccability devolves to His own integrity. He claimed to be sinless. (John 8:46) We have the further testimony of people who were hardly sympathetic to Christ. Judas – Pilate’s Wife – Pilate - The repentant thief - The Roman Centurion -

8 His Personality In every way, our Lord demonstrated the character of God. In fact this was His response to be called “good.” (Mark 20:17,18) Transparent – Absolutely Holy – Benevolent – Compassionate –

9 Meek and Gentle – Unobtrusive – Wise – Forceful – In short, Jesus Christ was perfect! As such He was and is the measure of a perfect humanity. (Eph. 4:13)
