2 Text Messages To Your Office Number
eText Text Messages To Your Office Number We are among the first organizations to use this Enterprise Text application. The vendor, Mutare, Inc., would like to hear any comments we have regarding the application, and any suggestions that we have for improvements to the product. Please send any comments or suggestions that you have to Nena – – and I will pass them along to Mutare.

3 Smartphone App and Web Portal
The eText application can be accessed from your smartphone or from a web browser. You can participate in and review conversations through either interface.

4 Smartphone App Install the Enterprise Text app from Mutare, Inc., available in the app store on your smartphone.

5 Smartphone App – Signing In
Server Code or URL is Username is your first name and last name initials and your 5-digit telephone extension number. This is not case-sensitive. The password is Passw01!

6 Smartphone App – Signing Out
To exit the App, you can close the window, or select Sign Out from the menu in the App. If you exit by closing the window, the App will remain active. If someone sends you a message, you will be alerted. An auto response will not be sent. If you exit by selecting Sign Out from the menu, you will not be alerted. If you have set up an auto response, that will be sent to the person who texted you.

7 Smartphone App – Main Page
When you sign into eText, you will see a screen with the people you have recently been in contact with. Tapping a number or contact name will show the conversations with that person. Tapping the pencil icon at the bottom right of the screen will open a new conversation. Tapping the Menu bars at the top left of the screen will open the options menu.

8 Smartphone App – Sending and Receiving Texts
This works like pretty much any texting application. Tap on the “Type message…” box on the bottom of the screen, and the app will give you a keyboard to type your message.

9 Smartphone App – Secure Texting
If you need to exchange private information, tap the Go Secure link at the top of the app window. The link at the top will change to allow you to return to unsecured texting. The heading at the top of the window and the little colored locks on the right of the text indicate whether the conversation is secure. An open red lock indicates that the conversation is NOT secure. A closed green lock indicates that the conversation is secure.

10 Smartphone App – Secure Texting
When you tap the Go Secure link, the person you are texting with will get a text with a URL. Tapping on the URL will open a secure texting portal. They’ll get a notice like the one below. When they click Accept, the secure portal will open, and they will see a screen like the one on the right.

11 Smartphone App – Secure Texting
If the person you’re texting with does not click on the secure link, the little padlock on the right of the messages will remain red. If the person exits secure mode, you will get a notification of that, and the little padlock on subsequent texts will be red.

12 Smartphone App – New Message
When you select to send a new message, you will see this screen. Everyone is part of a “Team”, made up of the people in your unit. At present, you can’t send messages from the Team, as we do not have SMS enabled numbers assigned to the teams. You will want to choose “Myself”. The “To” box will search for a contact in our eText application, or you can enter a phone number or click the person icon on the right of the “To” box to search in your smartphone’s Contacts.

13 Web Portal https://Olmsted.mutare.com
This is the entry page to the web portal. Your username and password are the same as you use for the phone app. eText is part of a larger notification application. We are using only the Enterprise Text portion of this application. The other links here won’t do anything much. Click on the Enterprise Text link.

14 Web Portal - Change Your Password
Hover your mouse over your name in the upper right corner of the screen. You’ll have an option there to change your password. I highly recommend changing your password from the default.

15 Web Portal - Conversations
On the left is a list of the people you’ve been texting with. Clicking on a person will show you all of the conversations you or your team have had with that person. You can send a text to that person by clicking on the Reply box at the bottom of the text window. You can secure the conversation using the “Go Secure” link at the top of the conversation window.

16 Web Portal - Conversations
You can start a conversation with someone by clicking the New link in the upper left of the conversations window. Select “From Personal” in the drop-down box, then enter the phone number in the box below that, or start typing a name to add someone from the Contacts list.

17 Web Portal - Contacts You can add a contact name to a phone number by clicking on the pencil next to the number. Clicking on the Notes link on the upper right of the conversation window will allow you to view or add notes pertaining to the individual. Anyone in our eText system who converses with this person will be able to see the notes.

18 Web Portal - Auto Response
Auto Response will send a message to those who text you when you are not logged in to the eText app. The text they sent you will be available when you log back in to the system. You can also set the auto response from the phone app. If you have closed the eText window on your phone but did not sign out of the app, the auto response will not be sent.
