3. Châteaudun, a town to be won for Christ
Sub-prefecture of 'Eure-et-Loir' county, Châteaudun (16000 inhabitants) is located on the road between Paris and the Loire chateaux. It is built for the most part on a rocky spur, dominated by its imposing castle, the vanguard of the great chateaux of Blois, Chambord, Chenonceau...

4. The town is not very industrialized, as the region is renowned for its fertility, the farmers are reasonably wealthy. The people of the Beauce region are known to be cold and distant. Strangers are not always welcome.
The population is relatively young compared to the rest of the region. The town's main employer is the military air base.

5. In the North-East of the town are the 'New Neighborhoods', a multi-ethnic and rather sensitive area.
The people are mainly firmly rooted in Catholicism. Rural occultism is also very present. .
The Jehovah's Witnesses are making progress and have built a grand 'Kingdom Hall'.
