Brendan Livingston, NDIS Resource Coordinator, CAH-PIR

2 Usage of existing resources
The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) has developed information relating to Psychosocial Disability on their website. We encourage where possible to utilise existing information sources to maintain consistency whilst we are still learning. A lot of information can be obtained from the NDIS website.

4 Summary A psychosocial disability is a disability arising from a mental health issue. Not every person who has a mental health issue will also have a psychosocial disability. Focus on function. NDIS focusses on the level of impairment that a person experiences as contributing evidence towards their access request. We are aware that mental illness can be episodic. Whilst there is an overall focus of recovery, there is some contrast in the language used for the NDIS vs Mental Health Services.
