Securing grants from central Government to carry out projects in Calder Valley
Partnering with The EA, CMBC, NT, Treesponsibility & The Source Partnership
Impacting on the entire catchment from Todmorden, Waldsen, Cornholme to Sowerby Bridge, Copley, Elland and Brighouse.
Our objective is simple:
To slow the flow from the upper catchment to the main river channel thereby reducing the flood peak and limiting out of bank flow………

A Natural Flood Management Pilot Project in Hardcastle Crags
To Slow The Flow from the upper catchment into the River Calder
Installation of leaky dams and gully stuffing in brooks & ditches
Using fallen trees and other natural materials already in situ
Over 100 volunteers working with us
5-7 year plan being developed with the EA and NT
Engaging with others working in NFM – research projects and academics
X 15 Time Lapse Cameras to monitor effects of interventions
