4 Library Rules Use a low level voice, work quietly and do not disturb other patrons. Return books on time. Listen carefully. Follow directions. Respect school and personal property. Keep hands, feet, and any objects to yourself No drinks are allowed. No eating No gum. Do not print without permission Do not violate the Elmore County internet policy. Sign in at the desk when using a computer

5 Consequences Verbal warning from the library media staff
If misbehavior continues, the student will be asked to return to class and the teacher will be notify. Students may be asked to separate from the group. If misbehavior is severe, the student will be asked to return immediately to class or brought to the office. Elmore County Code of conduct will be followed.

6 Library Media Schedule
Classes will visit the library every other week for collaborative lessons, Information skill lessons, return and check out books. Fixed Schedule – Teachers will bring whole groups following Week A/Week B Schedule. Flexible schedule – Two students from each classroom are allowed to return and check books any time of day with permission from your teacher – students signed planner with the library attached barcode is required to checkout and to renew books.

7 Library Book Care Keep books away from food or drinks.
Wash hands before reading a book. Return books on time, so that others may enjoy them. Keep books away from babies and pets. Don’t turn down corners of page, Use a bookmark to save your place. Keep books in a safe, dry place; like a ziplock bag in your backpack.

8 Overdues, Fines Lost/Damaged Books
Library books may be kept for 14 days. Late fee is .10 per school day. No new book loans are permitted until overdue books are returned. Lost books replacement fee is $15.00 for hardback and $6.00 for paperback.

9 GOAL BUSTERS 15 minutes free library time! when you have read
2 chapter books and 2 non-fiction books after you have met your AR goals for the marking period.

10 AR PARTY Each marking period, those students who have met their point goal, percent average goal and book level goal will be recognized. 85%-90% Average Correct Appropriate Book level Point goal based on ZPD.(zone, proximal Development)

12 Most Frequently Asked Questions
Does the library have printers? It costs $ .10 one-sided for black and white copies. Do you have change? Unfortunately, we cannot give out change. Can I stay after school to use the library? Yes, the library periodically have extended hours. During the research season, the library is opened 7:10-4:00.

Can I check out a book without my planner and barcode? It is required that you have your planner with your barcode attached. If you lose your planner, you must pay a replace fee in the amount of $6.50 for planner and $1.00 for barcode. See the bookkeeper to get a new one.
