Workers are trained in one task
Used for high volume production
Advantages:
Saves time --- Fastest form of production
Efficient use of materials --- Less waste
Requires minimal worker training
Can produce enormous quantities of a product
Disadvantages:
Inflexible --- Cannot easily change to make different products
Quantity rather than quality
Overproduction drives down the price of product
